In most chapters of humanity’s history, the dominant culture has found it convenient to blame ill fortune upon either outsiders or subordinate castes within the society. Jews were persecuted in Europe because they came from elsewhere. Native Americans were persecuted in North America because they did not.
I consider this phenomenon strong but perverse evidence in favor of the existence of Free Will.
Consider a stone, which is presumed not to possess Free Will. The stone cares little about the origins of the unrelated stone placed next to it.
